Architectural Perspectives
Your entrance takes you through a
subterranean corridor that opens out onto an uninterrupted bushveld
panorama. The natural sculptures of Geoffrey Armstrong add a powerful
magic to your private retreat. Each suite is sculpted deep into the
earth making it one with the landscape. Every suite has its own plunge
pool.
Place of rediscovery
There is peace here. Everything has
been designed and created to give your mind the freedom to wonder;
your body the time to relax; your lifeforce the power to renew itself
again. The lodge itself has been sculpted deep into the earth and is
unique for its oneness with the natural landscape. Your entrance takes
you through a subterranean corridor that opens out onto an
uninterrupted bushveld panorama. Glorious. Infinite. Free. You arrive.
At once, you are moved.
In everyone lives the faith that, eventually, we will find ourselves
in a finer place
As our guest at Earth Lodge, a Private Butler attends to your every
whim. You shall want for nothing. Your own Game Ranger and Shangaan
Tracker will guide you deep into the bushveld on private safaris. They’ll
share with you their knowledge and understanding of Africa’s
beautiful wild creatures and bring you close to them. After all, this
is “big five” country as it was a million years ago.
Then there’s the Earth Nature Spa. Its sole purpose: to lift the
weight of the world off your shoulders and leave you feeling
completely rejuvenated. Sometimes, inspiration comes also from the
minds of others. Which is why you’ll find the Earth Library, or our
private art gallery, captivating places in which to lose yourself. As
you would expect, the cuisine at Earth Lodge is extraordinary. Lunch
and dinner are accompanied by wines chosen from a list that offers you
thousands of choices, drawn from our cellar deep underground.
Be at peace with yourself
Earth Lodge respects the notion that man’s great journey began right
here, beneath this ancient African sky. It is a sanctuary that
inspires the contemplation of our beginnings. It has been planned to
stimulate the intellect, the imagination, the heart and the soul.
Such aspects are brought to life in the avant garde architecture of
the lodge,
which is dramatic and unexpected. It has been designed to reflect a
communion with the environment. Even the specially created furnishings
have been inspired by nature.
Imagine a perfect place of rest
Each of the twelve suites has a private plunge pool, and an
observation patio with a stirring view of the bushveld. The natural
sculptures of Geoffrey Armstrong add a powerful magic to your private
retreat. Earth Lodge also features the Amber Suite, resplendent in
presidential luxury.
An invitation
The Earth plays music that can be heard only in the Wilderness.
There comes a time in your life when you are ready to experience
something new. When something within you is prepared to be touched by
a greater force than you have yet encountered. This is the power of
Earth Lodge. The magic of Africa. Come. Let it move you.
Our commitment to the Earth
Wilderness is vital to mankind. For
in the wilderness we strengthen our bonds with the Earth and find
peace with ourselves. So many of the answers we are searching for lie
hidden in these places. But the wilderness is disappearing at an
alarming rate. It is up to us to provide a sanctuary for our flora and
fauna - not only for our children, but for their children too - in a
manner that creates employment, earns foreign currency and contributes
to the growth of the country through the development of eco-tourism.
