South Luangwa National Park

The South Luangwa National park is considered one of the greatest wildlife sanctuaries in the world. This remote and wild park covers 9,050-sq. km (3,494 sq. miles) of mainly mopane woodlands, savannah and ebony groves around oxbow lagoons. The park is home to an abundance of wildlife that is rarely seen in other game reserves. 


These endemic animals include Thornicroft's giraffe and Cookson's wildebeest. Lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, zebra, hyena, jackal, hippo, crocodiles, hartebeest, puku as well as many others can be found here. With over 400 species of birds including 40 raptors this area will delight any bird enthusiast.
