Marianne started her career as a retail travel agent and was fortunate to see many parts of the world before becoming an African specialist.  As much as she loved exploring the world, Africa won her heart very early in her career. After 20 years of retail travel agent experience, in 1994, Marianne ventured in customizing trips to South Africa and started Reservations Africa. To maintain quality control, Marianne’s policy has always been to only sell what she personally knows and have experienced. After multiple trips and becoming very familiar with South Africa, it was only natural to travel to other areas and include the other safari countries of Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda and Mozambique. Staff training is ongoing and includes a trip to Africa on a yearly basis to ensure they have the most current product knowledge and information. Marianne’s passion for travel to East and Southern Africa has never waned nor has her excitement and enthusiasm of creating the most memorable African adventures.

Her passion for Africa also evolved into her own register charity, African Preschools Society. Her charity has funded the construction of 2 preschools, one in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa and one near the Sabi Sands, Mpumalanga. After the preschool in KwaZulu Natal was built, it was then handed over to the education departure of the province of KwaZulu Natal. The preschool in Mpumalanga is 100% sustained and funded by the charity. She is very proud of the fact that 100% of all donations go directly to the projects as no travel expenses or administrative costs are paid for by the charity.
